Edmond, OK Non-Surgical Smile Makeover That Lifts and Rejuvenates Your Face
What is a Dental Facelift?
A Dental Facelift is a non-surgical smile makeover procedure that restores the lost volume in the lower third of the face caused by aging. This advanced cosmetic dental solution enhances your facial profile, lifts sagging features, and revitalizes your smile by restoring proper tooth structure, length, and alignment—all without surgery.
Unlike traditional facelifts that only lift soft tissue over aging bone structure, a Dental Facelift rebuilds lost structural support by adjusting the teeth and bite. This not only enhances smile aesthetics but also improves facial harmony, jaw function, and overall appearance.
Why Choose a Dental Facelift? As we age, the maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw) begin to shrink and change shape. Bone loss and worn-down teeth contribute to sunken cheeks, deep wrinkles, jowls, and a receding jawline. The Dental Facelift works by addressing this skeletal aging from within.
Benefits of a Dental Facelift:
- Restores vertical dimension and facial height
- Rejuvenates lips, jawline, and nasolabial angle
- Reduces wrinkles and facial sag
- Enhances profile and soft tissue support
- Improves TMJ/jaw-related pain and bite function
- Creates a natural-looking, youthful appearance
How It Works
At J Cha Cosmetic Dental, your customized Dental Facelift involves using porcelain restorations to rebuild worn or missing tooth structure. The process is largely additive, meaning minimal to no drilling is required. We focus on enhancing three-dimensional facial support—vertical, horizontal, and sagittal—to rejuvenate your appearance from the inside out.
You’ll first receive a full set of trial restorations (temporaries) that allow you to preview your smile and facial improvements before committing to the final restorations. This “try-before-you-buy” approach ensures satisfaction with your younger, refreshed look.
The benefits of a Dental Facelift include:
- Restoration of vertical loss of bottom ½ of the face.
- Customized smile makeover.
- Better tissue support (less wrinkles).
- Improved profile, jaw line.
- Balanced eye position and brighter / larger looking eyes.
- Improved jaw function, reduction of jaw related pain (head, TMJ, neck).
- A natural looking subtle facelift.
Is It Right for You?
If you have signs of facial aging—such as shortened teeth, jaw pain, deep lines, or loss of volume in the lower face—a Dental Facelift may be the ideal solution. It’s perfect for patients who want age-reversing results without surgery, downtime, or synthetic fillers.
Even if your teeth are healthy and intact, this procedure can often be performed without altering your natural teeth.
How will I know if I would like the result of the Dental Facelift?
We ensure you will love the result by providing a customized temporary Dental Facelift restoration.
A complete set of trial restorations are designed, fabricated and temporarily bonded to your existing teeth without making any alterations to your natural teeth.
You get to try out your dental facelift and show your new smile to your family & friends, eat and function with it, and see the total effect of a younger-looking face before you commit. This is a great way to ‘try before you buy’ and ensure you will love what you will get.
Temporary Dental Facelift restoration bonded onto existing teeth without any alteration of existing teeth. Immediate tissue improvement surrounding the mouth and restoration of the vertical height of the face.
How Long Does It Take?
Most Dental Facelift procedures are completed in 1 to 2 months. Patients typically return to work or regular activities the next day, with little to no post-procedure discomfort.
How Long Does It Last?
With proper oral care and diet, your Dental Facelift is designed to last a lifetime. The restorations are durable and provide lasting structural and aesthetic benefits.
Is it painful?
Because the Dental Facelift procedure is mostly ‘additive’, adding volume loss or wear, the tooth preparations are very conservative, and there is much less post-procedure sensitivity. Although some post-operative sensitivity may be present, it is transient, and most patients recover quickly.
Most patients can return to work or normal daily activities the next day after the procedure.
What if I have perfectly healthy teeth and I do not want my teeth drilled or ground down?
If you have healthy teeth and minimal previous dental restorations, in most cases, no drilling is necessary to receive a dental facelift procedure.

What Happens to Our Faces As We Age?
There are several individual factors dictating one’s progression of aging. The intrinsic factors include one’s genetics and hormonal changes4. The extrinsic factors include photoaging (sun damage) and exposure to toxins that cause DNA damage.4
Numerous studies show that as we age (aging after 30s)6, the facial bone structure begins to go through a resorptive phase.1,2,6.
The maxilla (upper jaw) and the piriform (bone plate surrounding the nose) significantly resorbs posteriorly1,2 (towards the back of the face) and narrows6,7, causing downward tipping of nose tip and appearance of a longer nose and widened ala of the nose (the nostrils appear widened).1,2,4,6. The bone volume loss in the anterior (front) of the maxilla reduces support of the upper lip and nose, increasing the nasolabial angle.1,2,3.
The width, length, and height (ramus) of the mandible (lower jaw) decreases. 1,6
The teeth get shorter from wear, and if teeth are lost, the jawbone resorption increases dramatically. The net effect is shortened and depressed bottom 1/3 of the face, changing one’s profile from straight to concave7 and overall loss of volume leading to increased skin sag, less defined jawline, and appearance of jowl.1,6,7.
Many other factors contribute to the speed of aging, such as facial fat volume and migration, periorbital bone resorption, diet, smoking, sun damage, hormonal imbalance, vitamin deficiency, and chronic inflammation, to mention a few. Although the Dental Facelift procedure cannot reverse all aspects of aging, the procedure can improve the appearance of aging by proving structural support to the bottom 1/3 of the face.
How Did the Dental Facelift Come About?
For over 31 years, Dr. Jerome Cha has been practicing cosmetic and TMD/TMJ-focused dentistry in Tulsa, OK, as an Accredited cosmetic dentist by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
In earlier years, Dr. Cha successfully treated TMD patients by positioning the jaw and teeth where the joints and muscles can function harmoniously. TMD treatment usually involves using either removable or fixed orthotics followed by orthodontic treatment.
These treatments required frequent and multiple visits lasting over a long period.
As Dr. Cha successfully treated these cases, he noticed not only the symptoms of TMD improved, but the patients’ facial structures and appearance improved, as well. This was when he realized that instead of relying on ‘plastic appliances,’ the benefits of TMD appliances can be permanently incorporated into the teeth by creating an ideal state for beauty & function. This realization has led Dr. Cha to continue his studies and research on facial rejuvenation and the creation of a Dental Facelift protocol for dental professionals, and he has been providing this unique dental treatment for over a decade.
